	Die Werke von Audrius Janusonis vermitteln eine stete Ambivalenz zwischen Intellekt und Emotion, bedrohlicher Handlung und meditativer Stille, Verletzlichkeit und Stärke, Schmerz und Zärtlichkeit, Verzückung und latenter Aggression, Macht und Ohnmacht. Äusserlichkeiten erhalten Bedeutung als Sinnbilder für innere Vorgänge. Egoistisches, Spielerisches, Erotisches, Triebhaftes und unschuldig Grausames tritt uns mit seinen Arbeiten entgegen. Seine Gestalten strahlen Wärme und naive Aggressivität aus und sind gleichzeitig vertraut und fremd. Dadurch erhalten sie ihre Anziehungskraft, verführen sanft und verunsichern zugleich. Die Suche nach der existenziellen Dimension, das heisst nach den Fragen, die immer unbeantwortet bleiben, ist allgegenwärtig. Das Gesamtergebnis ist eine Kunst, die sowohl bildlicher wie philosophischer Natur ist. Die Spannung zwischen den beiden Perspektiven ist es, die Audrius Janusonis Darstellung der menschlichen Komödie und Tragödie so faszinierend macht.

	Les œuvres d'Audrius Janusonis transmettent une constante ambivalence entre intellect et émotion, action menaçante et silence méditatif, vulnérabilité et force, douleur et tendresse, extase et agression latente. Les apparences acquièrent leur signification en tant que symboles de processus intérieurs. Avec ses travaux, nous sommes confrontés à des éléments égoïstes, ludiques, érotiques, pulsionnels et d'une innocente cruauté. Ses personnages, dont il émane chaleur et agressivité naïve, nous sont à la fois familiers et étrangers. C'est par là même qu'ils détiennent leur pouvoir d'attraction : ils séduisent en douceur tout en déstabilisant. La quête de la dimension existentielle - en d'autres termes, de questions qui demeurent toujours sans réponse - reste omniprésente. Le résultat global est un art tout autant de nature figurative que philosophique. C'est la tension entre ces deux perspectives qui rend si fascinante la représentation de la comédie et de la tragédie humaines chez Audrius Janusonis.

	The works of Audrius Janusonis convey the constant ambivalence between intellect and emotion, looming action and meditative silence, vulnerability and strength, pain and tenderness, rapture and latent aggression, and power and powerlessness. Outward appearances gain significance as symbols of inner processes. We are confronted with the egotistical, playful, erotic, animalistic and innocently cruel in his work. His figures radiate warmth and naïve aggression and are at once both familiar and foreign. This is how the figures maintain their appeal; they gently seduce and unsettle at the same time. The search for an existential dimension, in other words for the question that invariably remains unanswered, is omnipresent. The overall result is art that is both figurative as philosophical in nature. The tension between the two perspectives is what makes Audrius Janusonis' portrayal of human comedy and tragedy so fascinating.
